The FCC has released a Public Notice announcing that the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) and the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) have certified CommScope, Federated Wireless, Google, and Sony as Spectrum Access System (SAS) Administrators in the 3.55-3.7 GHz Band (3.5 GHz Band). WTB and OET granted these certifications after working closely with NTIA and the Defense Department. Formal SAS certification means that each of the SAS Administrators has met the requirements prescribed in Part 96 of the FCC’s rules and the Commission has reviewed and approved each SAS Administrator’s Initial Commercial Deployment (ICD) report. The four SAS Administrators can now provide SAS services for a period of five years.
