The FCC has submitted a report to Congress, as required under the TRACED Act, describing its assessment on the efficacy of the technologies used for call authentication in the STIR/SHAKEN framework.  In the report, the FCC concluded that when the technical standards and protocols that comprise the STIR/SHAKEN framework are correctly applied, the framework effectively authenticates caller ID information to identify illegal spoofing.  The FCC also concluded that it would be premature to revise or replace the STIR/SHAKEN framework at this time.
