The FCC has released a public notice soliciting nominations for membership on the new Disaster Response and Recovery Working Group of the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee (BDAC). This new working group will assist the BDAC in providing advice and recommendations to the Commission on steps that can be taken to improve disaster preservation, response, and recovery for broadband infrastructure. The Commission is interested in receiving nominations and expressions of interest from individuals and organization in the following categories that have experience in efforts to improve resiliency of communications infrastructure, emergency management of communications networks, and/or homemade security matters: Federal, State, Local, Territorial or Tribal government agencies; consumer and community organizations with experience in issues concerning threat and vulnerability assessment, risk and emergency management, emergency planning, and network management; rural and urban Internet service providers; independent network builders and networking equipment installers; industry trade associations; and qualified representatives of other stakeholders and interested parties. Nominations for membership to the working group must be submitted by e-mail to BDAC@fcc.gov no later than Friday, September 7, 2018.
