The FCC has released a public notice proposing that the universal service fund (USF) contribution factor for Q2 2018 will be set at 18.4 percent. Contributions to the federal USF support mechanisms are determined using a quarterly contribution factor calculated by the FCC. The Commission calculates the quarterly contribution factor based on the ratio of total projected quarterly costs of USF support mechanisms to contributors’ total projected collected end-user interstate and international telecommunications revenues, net of projected contributions. USAC submitted projected collections of end-user telecommunications revenues for April through June 2018 based on information contained in the Second Quarter 2018 Telecommunications Reporting Worksheet (FCC Form 499-Q). The total projected collected interstate and international end-user telecommunications revenues for Q2 2018 is forecasted at just over $12.8 billion.
