The FCC has released a public notice seeking comment on the Emergency Petition of Tracfone Wireless, Inc. requesting an FCC “Order Directing USAC to Alter the Implementation of the National Verifier to Optimize the Automated and Manual Eligibility Verification Processes.” Tracfone is urging the FCC to require that USAC expedite its efforts to obtain access to key databases or delay the inclusion of any state in the “hard launch” of the National Verifier until such time that access to key databases has been secured. Alternatively, Tracfone urges the Commission to compel USAC “to accept documentation produced through third parties’ automated access to state databases as part of the Verifier’s national manual process, including managed care organization (“MCO”) letterhead proof of Medicaid eligibility.” Comments are due Wednesday, September 12, 2018 and reply comments are due Thursday, September 27, 2018.
