The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has released a Notice of Inquiry seeking comment on global internet routing security.  The Commission seeks comment on the Border Gateway Protocol’s (BGP) vulnerabilities.  The BGP is central to the Internet’s routing system; it is used to exchange reachability information among independently managed networks on the Internet.  The Commission seeks comment on related vulnerabilities to email, e-commerce, interconnected Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and 911 calls.
