FCC Seeks Comment on Regulatory Fees for FY 2024

The FCC has adopted a Second Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on its proposal to collect $390,192,000 in regulatory fees for fiscal year (FY) 2024.  The FCC also seeks comment on several regulatory fee issues, including: (1) the calculation of television broadcaster regulatory fees; (2) how the Commission’s may promote or inhibit advances in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility; (3) the end of COVID-19 temporary relief measures; (4) the Commission’s proposal to discontinue its presumption that broadcast stations that are dark or were recently dark or bankrupt are experiencing financial hardship sufficient to justify waiver of their regulatory fees; and (5) ways in which the Commission can assist regulatory fee payors in meeting their annual regulatory fee obligations.  Comments are due July 15, 2024, and reply comments are due July 29, 2024
