FCC Seeks Comment on and Provides Certification Details for STIR/SHAKEN Implementation Extensions

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau is seeking comment on STIR/SHAKEN implementation extensions granted by the FCC for small voice service providers, providers unable to obtain a Service Provider Code token, and services scheduled for section 214 discontinuance. The Commission has also provided filing instructions for implementation verification certifications that certain voice service providers must file.

Comments on the STIR/SHAKEN implementation extensions are due 30 days after publication in the Federal Register and reply comments are due 45 days after publication in the Federal Register. Certifications for the caller ID authentication exemption verifications are due October 4.
