The FCC’s Broadband Data Task Force, Office of Engineering and Technology, and Wireline Competition Bureau have provided limited access to a preliminary version of the Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric (Fabric). The Fabric will be available to fixed broadband service providers that previously filed fixed broadband deployment data in past Form 477 filings. The Fabric will assist them in preparing their broadband availability data for the Broadband Data Collection (BDC). Broadband availability data can be submitted beginning June 30, 2022 and submissions will be due no later than September 1, 2022. The Public Notice making this announcement also provides details on the data sources and elements used in the Fabric and guidance for broadband providers on how to prepare BDC filings.
