The FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering have released a Public Notice modifying Citizens Broadband Radio Service device reauthorization policies. Specifically, Spectrum Access System administrators have been informed that they are permitted to implement longer CBRS device reauthorization policies in geographic areas and portions of the 3.5 GHz band that are outside the scope of current federal operations, consistent with the methodology described in a recent NTIA letter. As described in the NTIA letter, CBRS devices may continue to transmit for up to 24 hours, instead of 5 minutes, without SAS reauthorization in certain portions of the 3.5 GHz band.
