The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau has issued an Order denying NE Colorado Cellular Inc.’s (dba Viaero Wireless) Request for Reconsideration seeking reconsideration of certain denied reimbursement claims it had filed under the Secure and Trusted Networks Reimbursement Program.
Viaero had sought reimbursement for certain replacement equipment that would be replacing already reimbursed replacement equipment. Due to a change in vendor, the already reimbursed equipment was no longer compatible with the network. The FCC denied the Petition arguing that when Viaero decided to use a new vendor it did not confirm whether the already reimbursed equipment would be compatible with the new replacement equipment. The FCC concluded that this oversight results in the costs not being reasonably incurred.
