FCC Chairwoman Rosenworcel, in a letter to Congress, announced that the Federal Communications Commission is conducting an investigation of inaccurate service availability data reported by broadband service providers.  The statement was prefaced with a list of steps the FCC has taken to prevent systematic overreporting of coverage by broadband service providers.  However, the letter was mainly a response to Congressional requests to extend the “deadline” for submitting challenges to the Broadband Data Collection maps.  Chairwoman Rosenworcel assured Congressional members that there is no “deadline” and that the challenge period is an ongoing process.
