The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has adopted an Order granting two petitions seeking waiver of service obligations as part of the rural broadband experiments (RBE) program. The petitioners, Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative (ACEC) and Consolidated Communications Networks Inc. (Consolidated), argued that the required number of locations they were required to provide service to exceeded the actual number of locations identifiable within their respective study areas. The Commission concluded that this discrepancy warranted a waiver of their obligations and, as a result, the FCC adjusted their support amounts pro rata.
