The FCC has released an Order granting multiple requests seeking extensions of the removal, replacement, and disposal term deadline for the FCC’s Secure Networks Act Reimbursement Program. The Reimbursement Program requires program participants to complete their removal, replacement, and disposal of unsecure equipment and services within one year of receiving program funds. Program recipients are able to request individual extensions, up to six months, claiming that, due to no fault of their own, they were unable to timely complete the process.
Extension requests were filed by and granted to WorldCell Solutions, LLC, Mediacom Communications Corporation, Virginia Everywhere, LLC, James Valley Cooperative Telephone Company, and NE Colorado Cellular, Inc. d/b/a Viaero Wireless. The Commission granted the filed extension requests reasoning that each petitioner established that, due to no fault of its own, the lack of full funding or supply chain issues impacted its ability to meet its completion deadline.
