The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology have confirmed the addition of Kaspersky Lab Inc.’s cybersecurity and anti-virus software to the Covered List and noted that any equipment that integrates cybersecurity or anti-virus software produced or provided by Kaspersky is prohibited from obtaining an FCC equipment authorization. Kasperky’s cybersecurity and anti-virus software was added to the Covered List on July 23, 2024 after a final determination was issued by the Department of Commerce that deemed such software to pose an undue and unacceptable risk to U.S. national security.
