The FCC has announced that it will allow E-Rate funding to support equipping school buses with Wi-Fi, seeing that such a service serves an educational purpose. The Commission also directed the Wireline Competition Bureau to fund Wi-Fi on school buses and other eligible E-Rate equipment needed to make the Wi-Fi available as part of the funding year 2024 eligible services list proceeding and directed the Bureau to seek comment on the services and equipment that should be funded.
