FCC Announces Staff Appointments

FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai recently announced that Brendan Carr has joined his staff as Legal Advisor for wireless, public safety, and international issues. Mr. Carr joins Commissioner Pai’s office from the agency’s Office of General Counsel where he handled a range of spectrum policy, competition, and public safety issues. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Carr was in private practice where he worked on telecom litigation, appellate, and regulatory matters. Mr. Carr replaces Jeffrey Neumann, who had been serving as Acting Legal Advisor while on detail from the Media Bureau’s Engineering Division. Mr. Neumann will rejoin the Media Bureau.

In addition, the Wireline Competition Bureau announced that Matthew S. DelNero has been appointed Deputy Bureau Chief. Mr. DelNero will focus on issues related to technology transitions and the Open Internet. Prior to this appointment Mr. DelNero was a partner at a Washington, D.C. law firm where he practiced in its Communications & Media and Privacy & Data Security practice groups.
