The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has announced the release of an enhanced payment portal that will be available to users through the Commission Registration System (CORES) beginning July 24, 2020. The Commission is required to update the payment portal to comply with the Department of Treasury’s pay.gov system integration requirements. These enhancements will provide users a FCC Registration Number (FRN) financial dashboard that will allow them to view their FCC-related financial data and more easily make payments. More specifically it will allow users to: (1) retrieve financial data associated with their FRNs, including red and green light status; (2) select different types of payment; (3) utilize the Department of Treasury’s supported technology to complete online payments; and (4) make payments with enhanced security measures. The FCC plans to release these updates in three phases that will smoothly integrate users into using the enhanced system.
