The FCC has announced the individuals who will serve on the six working groups of the Commission’s Communications, Reliability, and Interoperability Council VIII (CSRIC). CSRIC’s working groups include: (1) 5G Signaling Protocols Security; (2) Promoting Security, Reliability, and Interoperability of Open Radio Access Network Equipment; (3) Leveraging Virtualization Technology to Promote Secure, Reliable 5G Networks; (4) 911 Service Over Wi-Fi; (5) Managing Software & Cloud Services Supply Chain Security for Communications Infrastructure; and (6) Leveraging Mobile Device Applications and Firmware to Enhance Wireless Emergency Alerts.
CSRIC provides the FCC with guidance and recommendations on improving the security, reliability, and interoperability of the country’s communications systems.
