The Federal Communications Commission has adopted a Second Report and Order adopting technical and operational rules for cellular-vehicle-to-everything devices, specifically for on-board units and roadside units, to operate in the 5.9 GHz band as operations transition from Dedicated Short-Range Communications to C-V2X-based technology.  This Second Report and Order terminates all existing waivers that were previously granted for the operation of C-V2X devices; however, if equipment authorizations were granted under those waivers, such devices will be permitted to operate under those parameters authorized in those waivers.  The new rules will be effective 60 days following publication of the Second Report and Order in the Federal Register.
