The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program’s online enrollment opened today. Low-income households and households harmed financially by the COVID-19 pandemic may enroll at GetEmergencyBroadband.org. The site also includes a tool to find the participating broadband providers in a household’s area.
The EBB Program was established by Congress as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, and appropriates $3.2 billion for discounting high-speed internet services. Eligible households will be able to receive up to a $50 discount per month off the standard rate for an internet service offering and up to $75 discount if on Tribal lands as well as subsidies for connected devices such as computers and tablets.
