The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) is seeking comment on the proposed eligible services list (ESL) for the E-Rate program for funding year (FY) 2025. The Bureau has proposed certain revisions to the draft FY 2025 ESL to implement changes adopted by the Commission in the Wi-Fi Hotspot Report and Order. The Commission’s proposed revisions include: (1) changing the description of “wireless” service in the Category One services section of the ESL; and (2) amending the explanation of “Wireless services and wireless Internet access” in the eligibility explanations section for certain Category One and Category Two services. Comments on the proposed ESL for FY 2025 are due August 30 and reply comments are due September 16.
