The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (Bureau) is seeking comment on a vertical accuracy (or z-axis) test bed report (Report) filed by CTIA on behalf of nationwide wireless carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon proposing a z-axis accuracy metric. The Report describes the test bed process established to develop and validate the metric for indoor wireless 911 calls. The Bureau’s public notice on the Report poses a number of specific questions that the Bureau wants commenters to address, but the Bureau also invites general comments. Comments on the Report are due by October 1, 2018 and reply comments by October 11, 2018.
