On May 18, 2017, the FCC adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) seeking input on: (1) changing the current methodology for determining the national rate floor for carriers receiving high cost support; or (2) eliminating the rate floor and its accompanying reporting obligations altogether. The NPRM was recently published in the Federal Register, and comment deadlines have been established. Comments are due by July 10, 2017, and replies are due by July 24, 2017 in WC Docket No. 10-90.
