Anna Gomez has been sworn in as an FCC Commissioner. She becomes the fifth Commissioner at the FCC, filling the empty seat on the Commission and giving the Democrats a majority. Gomez most recently served as a Senior Advisor for the International Information and Communications Policy in the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy at the State Department, and she has previously worked at the NTIA, at the FCC, on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, and in private practice. She is the first Latina-American to serve in the position in more than two decades. She is a graduate of George Washington University Law School and Pennsylvania State University.
