The FCC has adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM) that seeks additional comment on the process of determining regulatory fees for space and earth station payors. The Commission seeks to further develop the record on proposals that were initially made in the Space and Earth Station Regulatory Fees Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, but which were not adopted in fiscal year (FY) 2024. If adopted, the proposals to adjust the methodologies used to assess space and earth station regulatory fees must be submitted to Congress at least 90 days before becoming effective. Comments on the FNPRM are due March 27, 2025. Reply comments are due April 11, 2025.
