Following a publication in the Federal Register, the effective date for most parts of the FCC’s Report and Order adopting a 100 percent hearing aid compatibility requirement, is December 13. Amendatory instructions 3 and 4, which pertain to labeling and disclosure requirements for hearing aid-compatible handset models, website posting requirements, and FCC Form 855 certification filing requirements, are delayed indefinitely. The FCC will publish a separate document in the Federal Register announcing the effective dates for amendatory instructions 3 and 4.
