The FCC has released a Public Notice setting the pleading cycle for comments to be filed in response to applications filed by Frontier Communications Parent, Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. requesting consent to transfer control of all authorizations and licenses held by Frontier to Verizon. The acquisition was announced on September 4 under which Verizon will acquire 100 percent of Frontier and its subsidiaries for $9.6 billion. While Frontier itself does not provide any domestic telecommunications services or hold any international section 214 authorization, through its subsidiaries, it operates more than 50 incumbent local exchange carriers and some competitive LECs in 25 states.
Comments on the proposed transaction are due by December 9, 2024 and reply comments are due by December 24, 2024.
