The FCC has denied a waiver request filed by Raicom, Inc., a subsidiary of BW Telcom, seeking to reinstate certain 700 MHz licenses, located in Nebraska, that were automatically terminated due to a discontinuance of service.  In its waiver request, Raicom noted that it experienced a wireless core malfunction that forced it to discontinue service.  The FCC’s rules provide that licenses are automatically terminated after service is discontinued for 180 consecutive days.  In denying the request, the Commission concluded that Raicom should have notified the FCC of the permanent discontinuance and should have filed a request for extension of its discontinuance period.
