The FCC has adopted new rules, aiming to eliminate misleading pricing practices, for cable operators and direct broadband satellite (DBS) providers.  The new rules require providers to specify the total cost of the video programming service, or “all-in pricing,” “clearly and prominently” in providers’ promotional materials and on subscribers’ bills.  The all-in price includes broadcast retransmission consent, regional sports programming, and other programming-related fees, and the FCC’s new rules require all the fees to be listed as a “prominent single line item” on subscribers bills and promotional materials.
