The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau and Office of Economics and Analytics (Bureaus) have announced the default of Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) support to over 12,000 locations in Arizona by Wavelength LLC. According to the Bureaus, Wavelength failed to demonstrate its financial qualifications to receive RDOF support in Arizona. This default follows a prior announced RDOF default by Wavelength for its winning bids in California. The Bureaus indicate that Wavelength’s defaults are being referred to the Enforcement Bureau where they will be considered for proposed forfeitures starting at a base forefeiture amount $3,000 per violation (for RDOF purposes, a default for a Census Block Group comprises a “violation”).
