FCC Seeks Comment in Biennial Review of Telecommunications Regulations

The FCC, on behalf of the relevant Commission Bureaus and Offices, has released a Public Notice seeking comment on what rules should be modified or repealed as part the agency’s 2018 Biennial Review.  Those Bureaus and Offices seeking input on modernizing their applicable rules include the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, Enforcement Bureau, International Bureau, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, Wireline Competition Bureau, and Office of Engineering and Technology. The Public Notice details the specific sections of the Code of Federal Regulations that are open for public comment. The FCC requests that submissions “identify with as much specificity as possible the rule that the commenting party believes should be amended or repealed, and explain why and how the rules should be amended or repealed.” Comments are due on or before Thursday, January 17, 2019 and reply comments are due on or before Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
