The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has released a notice of solicitation of applications (NOSA) announcing that RUS is accepting applications for fiscal year 2015 funding from its Rural Broadband Access Loan and Loan Guarantee Program (RUS Broadband Loan Program). Applications may be submitted from July 30, 2015 through September 30, 2015. Loans are available for the construction, improvement, and acquisition of facilities and equipment to provide broadband service in eligible rural areas. All loan applications must be submitted in accordance with the changes to the RUS Broadband Loan Program set out in the interim final rule published concurrently on July 30, 2015 with the NOSA. Additionally, interested parties may file comments on the interim rule no later than September 28, 2015.
